I haven't been on a computer in nearly a week. I've probably checked my Gmail a few times from my sister's phone. Since school is out and I have no real scholastic work to do, I dread being near the damn thing. Many people can't stand even turning off their computers, they instead just have it in "sleep mode" so it's readily accessible when boredom becomes too much to bear. As I continue to get older, I realize that my attachment to this thing has decreased tremendously. I see it more and more as just a machine. I remember the days where I couldn't go a day without signing into a messenger and seeing if anyone was online so I may feel like I have "socialized." I can't really explain, not even to myself, why I just don't care for it anymore. The Internet is a boundless medium that can take me anywhere, but in reality, I'm still sitting in a room... in a chair... still physically nowhere. Kinda pointless, eh? Actually, I think I am beginning to develop a phobia. I don't even want to watch movies on it anymore. X_x
So... what am I doing during the day? I'm usually doing a combination of:
- Taking dad to the doctor
- Driving mom & siblings
- Store runs
- Babysitting
- Cleaning the house (imagine what a house looks like without Alice to cleanup after the Brady Bunch kids) ...seriously, dishes are overflowing the sink at least 3x a day.
- Brushing up on my PHYSICS for next semester >_<
- At the library, reading biographies
- Doing dad's "To Do List" (he makes one for me like every fucking day)
- And if I have time, ...harmless daydreaming :)

Now that I think about it... it's kind of nice to not be dependent on the computer or my cell phone or burdened by due dates. It's even nicer to not have to worry about having to pretend to want to "hang out." My mind, for once in a long time, can think a little more freely.

I think I am content being a hermit crab for the time being.

Attempt #1 using interior design program.

Since it wouldn't be financially sound to go all out and decorate the place how I really want to, I figured: "Hey. Why not cure the itch virtually, for free!" I started out by trying to put together what my room looks like from the place I'll be living in starting in August. The room came with the tables and I bought the bed+frame from the landlord. I'm trying to figure out where the features are in the software for things like curtains, etc. We shall see...

Should I just get a contract phone...?

I've been thinking about it for a while...
I currently have a non-contract plan with Virgin Mobile which allows me unlimited everything. Pics, txts, phone calls, and web. The downside is that I need to establish stable credit by maintaining accounts with various companies. I've been with VM for about two years already and that time period is pretty much standard with companies like Sprint, Verizon, etc.
Another downside of course is that I'll be paying more for a little bit less. I definitely can't afford unlimited minutes on a contract plan. I'm not sure I can beat the $65.25/mo I pay now for the service I get. Bleh.
