Insomnia, dammit!

As you can very well tell, I am severely suffering from insomnia for the past week or so. This is the latest I've stayed up compared to the usual 2AM since Sunday. I believe the cause of this has something to do with my emotional, as well as financial stresses. Let's just say... I'm really, really, not excited for the new school. Will the demanding requirements and schedule run me over? *sigh*

Anyway. In collaboration with my younger sister, I've developed a new layout and new format, too! Although she went to bed two hours ago, I must give her many thanks for staying up and giving my citrus theme a simple, cute banner. =) It took me forever to figure out and write the CSS codes for that common blog look, but I managed. I'm not really sure why I decided to go for the usual blog thing... I think it's because I was going through some past layouts and realized that I was really into archiving previous posts. I felt nostalgic and I also felt that this format is easier to maintain since I don't really blog that often.

I suppose I need to bring this to a close and get to bed... it is 5AM afterall. Hope everyone likes the new format.

Potion, anyone?

Well... I don't really have much to say... Errm, I went to orientation last Thursday at the new school. It was exciting to see the entire faculty having a Ph.d and wore white lab coats. I will also be an intern and have the privilege to have a doctor at the hospital as my mentor for the next two years. Next year, they said I'll be promoted into a paid intern (yaaay, money!) Which is great and it's a step towards my laptop + printer for college. Maybe I'll have enough money to put a treadmill in my apartment, too. Speaking of which, I wish the U.S. had apartments like they do in Korea. I only found one or two apartments that included Internet as their provided amenities. But I'll worry about that later... I've got to look forward to classes M-F, from 7AM-5PM and SAT prep. Ha... they tried to console me by telling me the first week of school will have a field trip. Kiss my ass. x_x'

On the contrary, I'm sure you guys heard me talk about my homemade concoction of honey and olive oil (maybe molasses as well when I have the chance to buy some). Guess what! IT WORKED. My hair's natural state of afroness is now these cute, shiny, silky curls. My hair is also soooo dark/black when usually it's slightly brown/red. I used:
  • 1/2 cup pure clover honey
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
I must say, making your own personal care products is great because not only do you know what's in it... it's completely unharmful and trustworthy. I guess I'll be saving an extra $80 to have my hair done by stylists who use chemicals and I don't mind not wearing my hair "bone-straight," I SHALL EMBRACE MY ETHNIC CURLS! (every now and then anyway.. >_>)

Queasy + Random = wtf?

Imph min Goeng stag. Yeah, I just made that up. Let's see... it's been a while since I last blogged, ne? Not doing much lately, been procrastinating a lot. Supposed to be studying for the SATs, but guess what! I'm not! Ahahhaahahahahwuahahahahahaaa *sobs* But on a lighter note, I decided to spend that Amazon certificate on myself. Ordered Evanescence's Open Door a couple of days ago. Amy Lee's voice is just so profound, I love the way I feel when I listen to her sing... it's electrifying sometimes. I've recently been worried about the West Nile Virus going on in the neighborhood. We generally didn't have mosquitos, but for some reason in the last couple of years, I've been noticing them. The local news is going nuts about how many people are getting sick from the damn Virus. And here I am, with sensitive skin that swells up w/bruises when bitten. I just hope my homemade window screen protects me... o.o;; Oh yeah, I got my transcript last week, it's definitely not where I want it to be. So far, they've averaged out all credits from 9th grade and I average a whopping 3.72 GPA. What the fuck? I need to pick up my game. *sigh* At least I was able to maintain it to be over 3.5 all these years, right? Heh, if I keep a 3.72 in college, I'd be eligible for the honors award. Speaking of which, Dad and I have also been discussing college life lately. We both agreed that I should get a studio or small apartment (I don't feel like being worried over dorm mates/roommates when trying to major in Molecular Cell Biology). I have a list of eight colleges as a safety net in case I'm not good enough for the others, but I have a very strong feeling that USC (University of Southern California) in Los Angeles will accept me. I kind of want to be close to home anyway because well... I'm gonna occasionally want mom's egg rolls, fried tofu/bean sprout veggies and sesame beef. *sigh* College loans, here I come! *eyes evil debt* But I must admit... being a young college student in Los Angeles is exciting. LA is like a more populated version of San Diego, just without the demanding family. Unrestricted, baby! =)

...I'm hungry. x_x'
